Pohankar was born on December 31, 1994, in Mumbai, India. Her father ‘Sudhir’ was a former marathon runner, and her mother ‘Shobba Pohankar’ was a former national-level hockey player. Her grandmother was a classical vocalist, and her name was ‘Susheeta Tai Pohankar’. She has a sister Nivedita Pohankar who is a writer at the Prithvi Theatre. At school and college time she was a good athlete, and she won medals in 100-200 meter races. Her first debut in the film industry was in 2010.
